Vivid Rachel

Saturday night just as the restaurant opened its doors a car pulled up and a girl stepped out.  "Oh my god, her hat is AMAZING" said Tess.  We watched this beautiful girl, in her amazing orange Brigitte Bardot hat and vintage dress  boots (definition of lalaruralista-style!) waltz into Popolo.  Turns out it was the lovely photographer, Rachel Portesi, just back from California.  As I seated her, I grilled her on the provenance of her fabulous ensemble: the hat was a give-away from a second hand store in Saxtons River and the dress from a defunct vintage store in Putney - with the kick ass boots she is the pure chic embodiment of the ruralista scavenger aesthetic and of all the restaurants in all the world, she walks into mine. Thank you Rachel!
P.S. Lala's May Subscriber Give-Away is in effect.  All subscribers are automatically entered to receive the lovely scavenged vintage Italian scarf featured above. Good luck and thank you for subscribing.
